Year of the Horse Oversized Tee – Black
The first drop in Seoul Collective's Korean Zodiac line: an oversized black tee with a big Year of the Horse emblem across the front. A white horse rears up in gold scale armor and a red saddle cloth, set against a red sun inside a ring of swirling white and gold clouds. The gold SEOUL COLLECTIVE wordmark runs across the top, above a bold red 말 ("horse"), and below the emblem sits the gold line YEAR OF THE HORSE · 2026.
The Story
In Korea, everyone has a 띠 (tti), the zodiac animal of the year they were born. There are twelve of them, and the horse, 말, is the seventh. Its sign, 오 (午), also stands for the hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the direction due south, and the element of fire. Korean years run in a 60-year cycle that pairs the twelve animals with ten heavenly stems, each linked to a color, so a horse year comes in five kinds: blue, red, yellow, white and black. 2026 is 병오년 (byeong-o-nyeon). 병 stands for red and fire, which makes 2026 the year of the red horse, a year said to be full of bright yang energy. Koreans have long seen the horse as a sacred, lucky animal and a symbol of vitality, hope and moving forward. In the founding legend of Silla, a white horse bowed beside a well where the egg of the first king, Bak Hyeokgeose, was found. This design is for anyone born in a horse year, and for anyone ready to charge into 2026.
